Purpose of the Course: The purpose of this course is
to expand the students use of German language and culture. The goal is to
acquire proficiency in the foreign language by placing equal emphasis on the
following skills:
- Listening comprehension
- Speaking-correct pronunciation, use of vocabulary
and grammar
- Reading-comprehension and pronunciation
- Writing-spelling, dictation's and correct use of
vocabulary and grammar
GRADES
Grades are based on a total point system
Daily attendance, contribution, and participation are
necessary for successful completion of this course.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Students must come prepared to class, with book,
workbook, pen, pencil and paper.
- Students must bring homework assignments, homework
will be checked at the beginning of the period.
- Students must have a notebook with pockets to keep
handouts, homework, and notes.
RULES:
- Make up work due to illness or excused absence must
be made up within one week of return to school. It is the student's
responsibility to check with me before or after school or at the end of
the class period to get all make-up work. Late assignments will result in
a 50% grade reduction.
- Be prepared for class and in your seat when the bell
rings.
- Listen- no talking while teacher is speaking or
other students speaking in class.
- Respect others-cooperate and do not touch other
people or their belongings.
- Pay attention. Doing work for other classes will not
be allowed.
CONSEQUENCES:
Reduction in daily participation grade.
All other disciplinary action will follow school
guidelines.
